Nominate and Vote for Local Heroes to Win Accessible Vehicles
Are you going to take part in this year’s Mobility Awareness Month contest? Starting in February you will be able to nominate local heroes in your community and share their stories of triumph over the daily obstacles of living with mobility challenges. In March you will be able to start voting for your favorite local hero. Three lucky winners will receive wheelchair accessible vehicles fully customized to fit their every need.
Aiming to promote a “Life Moving Forward” ideal, NMEDA has partnered with reputable manufacturers and dealers across the nation to curate the prize of a lifetime – freedom and mobility. By awarding families in need a vehicle capable of not only transporting every member of the household, but also doing so in a comfortable and safe way, the contest becomes about much more than simply winning a car. These vehicles will likely lead to opportunities which may have seemed impossible before, like cross country road trips.
If you want to get involved, you can do so by nominating a friend or family member as a local hero and submitting their story to MobilityAwarenessMonth.com as a video or written entry (with accompanying photo). Make sure you share their story online and with your community in order to gain votes and be on the way to the top 10% of entries, out of which the winners will be selected. Each email address can vote for their local hero once per day, with the opportunity to earn extra votes by answering mobility trivia questions. You can also earn additional votes by using your nearest NMEDA dealer’s entry code at the time of submittal!
Be sure to check out the contest’s website for additional details, as well as the NMEDA Facebook and Twitter for news and updates. See the difference you can make!
