NMEDA Members Donate Converted Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles
May is National Mobility Awareness Month. In hopes of raising awareness and showing the world that there are mobility solutions available to seniors and people with disabilities, six members of National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) have teamed to donate three vehicles and conversions to three Local Heroes: Toyota, Chrysler, SanTan Honda Superstore, Braun Corporation, Vantage Mobility International (VMI) and Bruno Independent Living Aids.

The vehicles:
Toyota has donated a 2012 Sienna Minivan to the cause. Toyota provides factory-installed, as well as other adaptive equipment solutions (like rotating power lift-up seat) that support the mobility needs of Toyota owners. It will be customized by BraunAbility.
SanTan Honda Superstore in Chandler, AZ, one of the largest Honda dealership in Arizona, has donated a 2012 Honda Odyssey. It has a powerful 248-hp V-6 engine and gets 28 highway mpg. It will be customized by VMI.
Chrysler LLC has donated a 2012 Town & Country Minivan. It has 40 safety, security and technology features, including the ParkView rear backup camera, brake assist and a theft deterrent system. It will be modified by the Bruno Independent Living Aids.
Van conversion companies: (accessibility manufacturers)
These companies are leaders in the industry and will donate lowered floor conversions and specialized equipment.
Braun Corporation (BraunAbility) is widely known for its quality wheelchair van conversions and wheelchair lifts with more than 200 dealer locations across the U.S. and Canada. Its informative website should not be missed.
Vantage Mobility International (VMI) is donating its 25th Anniversary Limited Edition Honda Odyssey with Northstar conversion. This deluxe conversion was recently unveiled at NMEDA’s 2012 conference in Phoenix.
Bruno Independent Living Aids, a global manufacturer of accessibility products, is an industry leader in stairlifts, vertical platform lifts for the home, vehicle lifts and turning automotive seating.
