NMEDA Honored at PVA’s 2018 Mission: ABLE Awards
Last week, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Robert Wilkie, joined Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) in honoring three companies at the Mission: ABLE Awards for their leadership and efforts to expand the rights of individuals with disabilities. Over 400 guests attended the event, that recognized those who painstakingly work to create an America where U.S. veterans are able to access everything they need to live full and rewarding lives.
NMEDA was honored to receive the Access: ABLE Award, recognizing the company’s commitment to providing disability and mobility solutions that remove barriers and leadership in making the world accessible to those with disabilities. USAA and UPS were also recognized with the Employ: ABLE and Sustain: ABLE Awards respectively.
“NMEDA President Chad Blake and I were honored to accept this award,” said Danny Langfield, CEO of NMEDA. “It is pretty heady stuff for our association to be sharing the stage with the other honorees, USAA, and UPS. I could not be prouder of the members of our association for earning this honor. I know it’s a cliché, but it really is humbling for NMEDA to be recognized on this scale, by a partner of PVA’s stature.”
The Mission: ABLE Awards recognize those who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and fought for expanded rights for the 22 million courageous veterans, 56.7 million people with disabilities, and 800,000 Americans living with a spinal cord injury or disease. The event also raises funds to help PVA keep their programs and services available, free of charge, to veterans and their families.
