Endless Possibilities at the Abilities Expo, 2013

 

NMEDA is proud to be a sponsor of the 2013 Abilities Expo, with dates in Chicago, Houston, Boston, San Jose, Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta and Singapore.

For over 30 years, the Abilities Expo has dedicated efforts towards educating and improving the lives of people with disabilities. With workshops and special screenings being offered throughout the duration of the show, the Abilities Expo’s efforts focus on empowering individuals with invaluable information and technological innovations. From tips and tricks to streamline daily routines to impact lifestyle changes, experts gather to provide a variety of information applicable in travel in  handicapped vans, home modifications with mobility equipment, technology, transportation, helping a child with a disability, and more. At the helm of these workshops are professionals whom are directly involved with the community to which they are presenting. Each of them are recognized for their ongoing work with people with disabilities, and many of them are even living with a disability themselves or being the parent or sibling of a person with a disability.

The Abilities Expo also showcases the latest in adaptive technology and services, designed with enhancing the quality of life for people living with disabilities. Thousands of products and services are exhibited at each leg of the conference, with assistance dogs and horse therapy demonstrations on select dates.

This multidimensional show is not only designed for those living with disabilities and their families, but also offers insight and knowledge to caregivers and healthcare professionals, as well.
