Don’t Miss Abilities Expo March 30-April 1, 2012 in Los Angeles
The Abilities Expo in Los Angeles is scheduled for March 30-April 1 for people with disabilities, their families, seniors, vets, caregivers and healthcare professionals. The Expo tailors thousands of product offerings, free workshops and events with new categories of products and services in free consumer workshops.
Not only does it offer new events and demonstrations, but manufacturers, distributors and service providers will be offering steep discounts exclusively to attendees.
Accessible Vehicles & Equipment:
Stop by the wheelchair van and adaptive equipment booths to see the best known names in the industry. The Expo is a great time to see it all in one place, meet the professionals and get great information—like buying tips and financing.
Seniors:
Many seniors say they do not have a disability. They just need a little help. Abilities Expo has customized its exhibits, workshops and activities toward anyone eligible for AARP—from “Ask the Doctor” to travel to adaptive gardening and more.
Assisted Technology:
Apps, adventure and more, the AT Showcase is the opportunity to interact with technologies in the marketplace. Therapists, researchers and engineers demonstrate their technologies and give visitors a chance to try them.
Adaptive Sports:
Don’t miss the host of sports demos from adaptive rowing to power soccer and more.
Kids:
Kids will want to see the therapeutic horse riding made famous by “The Horse Boy” book and film, and hear the latest adventures of “Wendy on Wheels” read by author Angela Ruzicka.
Fun:
See the ballroom and Latin wheelchair dancing demos and workshops and enjoy a chance to dance on your wheels!
Watch the finals of the Ms. Wheelchair California Pageant and see her crowned.
