Virginia CAMS Event Sets the Bar High for
2023 Attendee Numbers
Last week, on St. Patrick’s Day, the Driver Rehabilitation Center of Excellence (DRCE) hosted a wildly successful CAMS educational event with close to 50 healthcare practitioners and interested stakeholders in attendance to learn about the auto mobility industry. No leprechauns were spotted, but the lucky attendees gained information about how the industry helps people with disabilities maintain their independence and mobility. First-time course instructor Amalie Ward, OTR/L, CDRS, delivered an outstanding educational presentation.
In addition to DRCE, the CAMS course was sponsored by Adapt Solutions, BraunAbility, Mobility Innovations, and Q’STRAINT. Throughout the day, the attendees had the opportunity to network with the sponsors and gain insights into best practices for helping patients find the right vehicle and mobility equipment. Participants were treated to a hands-on demonstration of some of the latest wheelchair accessible vehicles and adaptive driving equipment. Overall, the NMEDA educational event was a huge success and provided valuable information and resources to those in attendance.
