On Tuesday, NMEDA Director of Partner Relations, Trevor Jennings, hosted our second stop of the 2021 Automotive Mobility Awareness Tour at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ. Alongside our partner United Spinal Association, we were able to deliver a presentation on the importance of maintaining independence and the resources the organizations provide to both the facility’s staff and their patients.

While hospital staff attended both in-person and virtually for the presentation, all were able to join outside where we had our members United Access and VMI present with vans for the attendees to see.

“We had really great feedback from our staff,” said Katie Chun, PT, DPT, Rehabilitation Program Coordinator, Barrow Institute. “Several coworkers said this was the most valuable in-service they have been to—they learned so much being able to interact with the accessible vans.”
